bpl schedule – baji999 com – BCB appoints Moore as Head of Programs

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed Australian David Moore as Head of Programs which is akin to director of coaching. The 58-year old has been roped in on a two-year term, the BCB said in a press release today.

Moore will be responsible for planning, devising strategies and implementation of the HP and Bangladesh Tigers programs to ensure that these programs directly benefit the National Team’s interests while working on the development programs for coaches.

“I’m very excited to be commencing my role as Head of Programs at the BCB. I look forward to working with the Head Coach, his coaching and support staff and players to assist them to unleash their potential,” Moore was quoted as saying in the BCB media release.

“I am delighted to have been appointed to oversee and develop some very important programs that will provide opportunities for elite cricketers to perform in the international arena,” the media release quoted Moore as saying.

The idea to appoint Moore was to ensure a more seamless movement of players from HP and other sides for the national team cause.

Moore, who played just one first-class game for New South Wales as a wicket-keeper. He served as the head coach of West Indies after Bennett King resigned following a poor showing in the 2007 World Cup. He has also worked as the general manager of Cricket New South Wales. He also worked with the Bermudian Cricket Team as national coach and has worked as Coach Education Manager at Cricket New South Wales.

The event, which has kicked off from 5th of Jan and will continue till 16th of Feb 2023, will see a total of 7 teams playing 46 games with each other. The 7 teams are Chattogram Challengers, Comilla Victorians, Dhaka Dominators, Fortune Barishal, Khulna Tigers, Rangpur Riders & Sylhet Strikers. The BPL 9 matches conducted will have a viewing capacity of 64,500 spectators, across 3 venues in Bangladesh. Apart from this, the Live streaming of every game in BPL 9 will be accessible on Fancode and the Daraz App.

In Bangladesh, the viewers will have the chance to register for GTV and Maashranga TV and watch the live broadcast of the BPL 2023. In India, cricket fans can watch all the matches of BPL 2023 live on Sony Liv, Max, and Ten.

Former Bangladesh captain Shakib al Hasan, currently playing in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2023, was fined 15% of his match fees for arguing with umpires during a game

 Nurul Hasan and Anamul Haque were also fined for disobeying the umpire’s instructions and showing dissent, respectively, under Article 2.4 of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Code of Conduct.

The incident occurred when Hasan, who was not playing in the game, instructed a teammate to take a strike, which led to a change in the opposing team’s bowling strategy and resulted in an argument between Hasan and the opposing captain and umpires.

All three players accepted the fines and one demerit point to their disciplinary record proposed by the match referee.

The 39-year-old Mashrafe will retire from cricket after this year’s Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), thinks his father Golam Mortaza.

Father rushes to the stadium to watch his son play in BPL. He still has no lack of enthusiasm to see his son play. But thinking about Mashrafe, his request is to put away the bat-pad-shoe.

Golam Mortaza said after Mashrafe’s team Sylhet Strikers’ straight fourth win on Tuesday, “Everyone is seeing the condition of his legs. Today in the field he’s struggling. It is not possible to play cricket like this. How long is this possible? I think this should be the end. Old injured leg, struggling. It’s not about strength here.”

However, he will not give any advice to Mashrafe to quit the game. He believes that Mashrafe understands his own affairs best, “I haven’t talked to him about this yet. As long as he has the strength of mind… he knows very well what is possible and what is not possible. I have nothing to say. If he thinks it is possible, he will continue it, if he doesn’t think it is possible, he will not continue it.”

Many hope that Mashrafe will work for Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) after his playing career. Mashrafe’s father also wants his son’s cricket knowledge to be useful for the country. He added, “We want him to do what he knows best. He can do much better if he works at BCB. I can say it emphatically. Everyone understands that if he works with cricket, he will do very well. I certainly would.”
